Delphine Boehnemann, 82, of Brenham, died June 5, 2005, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mr. Boehnemann was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Burton, Texas, to Adolph and Ella Hertel Boehnemann. He was baptized in February, 1923 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Greenvine and was confirmed in 1936 in the same church. Mr. Boehnemann served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. In July 1949, he was married to Florence Kankel in St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sandy Hill. Mr. Boehnemann was previously employed at L. Hausman and Brenham Wholesale Grocery. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, where he held numerous offices and was a member of the Men s Club. Mr. Boehnemann was also a member of the American Legion and VFW. Survivors include his wife, Florence Boehnemann of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kathie Boehnemann of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Steve Camp of Denton; grandchildren, Lauren and Josh Hadley and Stephen Boehnemann; and sisters, Gladys Koerth and Evelyn Fuchs, both of Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tillie and Rudolph Kankel. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, in Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Matthew Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Wayne Fuchs, Delton Koerth, Bob Toler, Willie Kankel, Lester Lehman, Hollis Warren and Clinton Smith. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Hospice of Brenham or a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
