Delphine Stoelke

Delphine Clarence Stoelke, 84, husband of Dorine (Boeker) Stoelke, passed away December 26, 2015 in Bryan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Delphine Stoelke was born on December 6, 1931 in Industry, Texas to Charlie and Olga Herr Stoelke. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 10, 1949 in Shelby, Texas. Delphine served his country in the U.S. Army. On December 30, 1951, he married Dorine Boeker at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Delphine was a painting contractor for 64 years. Playing cards and dominoes with his family and friends were favorite pastimes. A member of Grace Lutheran Church, Delphine served as an Elder and trustee, and was a member of the Men’s Club. He continued membership at Grace until his death. Other memberships included the American Legion and the Sons of Herman. He also enjoyed dancing, and was a member of the Top Cats Dance Club.

Survivors include his wife, Dorine Stoelke; son, Jeffrey Wayne Stoelke, both of Brenham; daughters Sheryl Lynn (Robert) Main of Leander, and Donna Kay (Jeffrey) Kaltwasser of Brenham; grandchildren: Jason Dwayne Gaertner, Megan Elizabeth Main, Jared William Main, Madison Alana Kaltwasser, and Tyler McKay Kaltwasser; great-grandchildren: Braden Gaertner and Brycen Gaertner; brother, Delton (Alice) Stoelke of Katy, and a sister, Jean Sladek of Fayetteville. Delphine was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Joe Sladek, nephew Mark Sladek, and special friend, Bill Barrett.

Serving as pallbearers are Rodney Sladek, Ted Fritsch, Kenneth Stoelke, Michael Stoelke, Greg Rybarski, David Eckermann, Gary Eckermann, Kenneth Bader, and Randy Bader. Honorary pallbearers are the Grace Lutheran Men’s Club, Dot and Victor Arlitt, Jim and Marcella Fagan, Douglas and Ruth Schoppe, Jack and Iris Clements, Sonny McCracken, Dovie Addicks, Darleen Fisher, Harold Rietz, Billy Gaskamp, Walter and Evelyn Thielemann, Clarence Gaskamp, A. W. Hodde, Jr., Lester and Cecilia Weyand, Herman and Ruth Schoenemann, E.J. and Joyce Provasek, Ollie Brice, and Douglas Buck.

Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church and Hospice Brazos Valley. The family would like to thank Dr. Leal, Delphine’s Houston doctors, and the nurses of Hospice Brazos Valley.
