Diana Josephine (Pany) Bennett of Brenham TX, passed away June 5, 2020 at the age of 73.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Joven Saavedra officiating.
Diana was born to Edgar and Alice (Koening) Pany on August 21, 1946, in Yoakum, TX. She was united in marriage to Bernard J. Bennett on January 5, 1977 in Austin, TX.
Diana received a BA and Master of Library Science from the University of Texas. She worked at the University of Texas library, Sam Houston State University library, and was the Public Librarian at the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library, Brenham, Texas beginning in 1980. Her final position was the Director of Administrative Services for the City of Brenham, until 2006.
Diana was an accomplished and prize-winning quilter, a founding member of the Brenham Quilt Guild. She was honored by the Brenham Chamber of Commerce as Woman of the Year. She was a long-time member of the Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club, USA and an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling – cruising and driving road trips.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bernard J. Bennett, her brother David Pany (Cheryl) of Temple, and many nephews and nieces.
Thanks to the physicians and nurses of St. Joseph Cancer Center in Bryan, the staff of Traditions Hospice, and Joyce Gantt, loving caregiver.
