Don, a native Texan, was born on October 6, 1954 in Corpus Christi, TX to J. Dan and Matilda Frederick Price. He married his wife, Perrin Brown, on November 27, 2009.
Don was a member of the PGA Golf Association and an alumnus of Southern Methodist University. He played golf for SMU and was a part of the PGA golf circuit for the better part of two seasons. Don enjoyed sharing his love of the sport by helping people improve their game. His favorite part was running junior camps in the summers. Several of his students have gone on to work in the golf world. He had two children with his first wife. Don worked at courses in the Hill Country, Corpus Christi, La Jolla, California and Sugar Land before finding Brenham, Texas as home. In Brenham he married Perrin and took on her two girls as his own. Don was the PGA Golf Professional at Brenham Country Club for twenty years. Don had eleven holes in one. Don was asked to speak at the Brenham Rotary Club and the Southern Texas Section of the PGA Association annual meeting twice, to share of his resilience, his uncanny ability to overcome obstacles, and his love for the game. Each time he spoke there were standing ovations. Don was named the 2017 Honorary Chairperson for Baylor Scott and White in Brenham, TX. Don retired pro emeritus and as a lifelong member of the PGA in April of 2020 due to his declining health. Throughout his trials, his faith in Christ sustained him.
