Don Longhofer

Don Longhofer of Brenham passed away peacefully at his home on February 18, 2017.

Don was born September 23, 1937 in Marion, Kansas. After graduating high school, he attended LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Thus, becoming a full-fledged Texan, he made it his permanent home.

He was a faithful member of Brenham’s First Baptist Church and enjoyed a close walk with the Lord. He was a loving husband, father and friend. Don was loved by all who knew him. He was a member of Independence Historical Society, supported Unity Theatre and contributed to other charitable organizations in Washington County.

In his leisure time Don enjoyed golf, traveling and spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jere Longhofer, his sister Theodora Koslowsky, daughter Lisa Johnson, her husband Victor, Linda and David Hinze, Carol and Doug Malcomb, and Mark Kirchgessner, Jodie and Barry Zollman.

His beloved grandchildren are Ashley Christ and husband Seth, Jeremy Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Dustin Hoffart, Jason Hoffart, Hannah Malcomb, Clayton Malcomb, Blake Kirchgessner, Kyle Kirchgessner, Trey Neal and wife Abby, and Zack Zollman.

His little greats are Emma Christ, Lander Christ, Everly Christ (coming soon, Lynlee Christ), Nathan Hoffart and Andrew Hoffart.

Don has many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from

6:00 - 8:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A Memorial Service honoring Don will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham, Texas.
