Don Wayne Stovall, 66, husband of Christine Ann Stovall, died March 9, 2016 in Brenham.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer officiating. Burial will take place in Resthaven Cemetery in Houston at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Don Stovall was born September 13, 1949 in Houston to Kenneth H. and Lillie Mae Schulz Stovall. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Houston
After graduating from Reagan High School in Houston, Don enlisted in the U. S. Army, serving in Viet Nam. After his service, he attended Sam Houston State University, graduating with a B.S. degree. Don''s work career spanned 40 years, including Trinity River Authority, and the Texas Health Department. Later, he was co-owner of Chaparral Laboratories before retiring to Brenham, Texas.
Don attended Grace Lutheran Church with his wife, where he served as usher and trustee. He enjoyed his retirement and spent his days working on the family land. Woodworking, hunting, and fishing were favorite pastimes, and he was an avid Nascar fan. He especially treasured time spent babysitting his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Christine Ann, to whom he was married for nearly 46 years. Also surviving is his daughter, Cheryl Lee and her husband Kelly, of Katy, and their children, Amy and Rocky; his son, David Stovall and wife Catherine of Houston, as well as his mother, Lillie Stovall, of Brenham.
