Donald W. Holle of Marble Falls, Texas passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 at the age of 73. He will be buried at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery in William Penn. The funeral service will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Harold Vanicek officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Marble Falls at a later date.
Donald was born November 11, 1946 in Brenham, Texas to Willie A. and Amanda Boenker Holle. He was baptized and later confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn, Texas.
Donald served in the United States Army for 2 years from January 1966 to January 1968.
On December 19, 1970 he married Mary Beth Cecil at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas. He and Mary Beth made their home in the William Penn community for the next 15 years with their two daughters. The family moved to Marble Falls, Texas in 1985. Donald joined St. Peter’s Lutheran Church when he moved to Marble Falls and remained an active member until his death.
Donald is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary Beth, daughters Angie Atkinson and husband Billy, as well as Christie Bowyer and husband Greg. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lilly Atkinson and fiance’ Zach Gullett, Courtney Shain and husband Quealy, Holly Atkinson, James Peltoma, Corrigan Bowyer and fiance’ Austin Grato, Makenzie Bowyer, William Bowyer and Audrey Bowyer. He is also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Elvera and Roger Schroeder, brother and sister-in-law, Waldo and Lois Holle, and sister-in-law Mildred Holle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bernard Holle and an infant sister.
Donald loved to spend time with his family and his pets, especially his Corgi Willy. After moving to Marble Falls, he could often be found with his family at Ink’s Lake State Park or Pedernales State Park camping, boating, fishing and hiking. In later years he could be found at home with his family visiting, watching movies or playing cards, especially Rook.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Mary Beth Cishek and her associates, the LVAD nurses and all of the staff at Seton Heart Specialty Care and Transplant Center in Austin, Texas as well as Seton Hospice and his nurses Amy and Angela, for all they have done for Donald’s care.
