Donald was born July 11, 1947 in Brenham to Arno W. and Helen Krueger Loesch. He was both baptized and confirmed in St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. He was a graduate of Brenham High School and attended Blinn College, and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1968 until 1970. Upon returning from the Army, he joined the Brenham Police Department for 9 years.

On February 17, 1984, he married Darlene White in Brenham. He later retired from TFE Co. after 25 years, where he had been employed as a machinist. A member of Christ Lutheran Church, Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and looked forward to getting up each morning and drinking coffee with all of his friends at the coffee shop. He treasured the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, and especially looked forward to family vacations to Rockport and Matagorda with his family each summer. Taking fishing trips with his sons and fishing buddies and spending time with his brother were things he truly enjoyed. Donald will be truly missed by many, and his little companion lap dogs, Keke and Zoe are no exception. They loved and adored him.
