Doreen Munson

Doreen Margie Munson, 80, of Brenham, died Sept. 20, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Munson was born July 15, 1927, in Rosebud, Texas, to Elo Henry and Dora Bruedigam Werland. She was baptized and confirmed in Rosebud. On Nov. 4, 1966, she was married to Hayden M. Munson in San Antonio, Texas. She was a retired civil service worker/comptroller. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael H. and Sherry E. Horrocks of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Randy Fletcher of Brenham, Patricia and Lynn Diepenbrock of Hennepin, Oklahoma and Deborah and Brad Benne of Round Rock; mother-in-law, Jasma L. James of Shawnee, Oklahoma; brothers-in-law, Kenneth James of Manhattan, Kansas and Morris James of Shawnee, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews, Valerie Graham, Cabot and Sheila Casinger, Paul and Pat Casinger and Don Casinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elo and Dora Werland; husband, Hayden Munson; and sisters, Anna Mae Pieper, Minnie Wendler and Henrietta Casinger. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Kenneth James officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to Brazos Valley Hospice, 302 E. Blue Bell Rd., Brenham, TX 77833. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham.
