Doris Jean "Danford" Burk, 69, of Brenham, Texas passes away Friday, August 30, 2013 at 4:30 a.m. at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday September 3, 2013 form 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham with Pastor Jon Siemsglusz officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiediville Cemetery. She was born March 6, 1944, in Brenham, Texas, to Earl and Lily Koester Danford. Sr. Doris was a graduate of West Columbia High School in 1962. She worked at Deer Borne Marine for numerous years in Freeport, Texas, until she moved to Brenham, Texas, in 1985, where she was employed in various positions before going to work for 14 years at the City of Brenham. Everywhere she went and everything she was involved in she always had that loving sweet smiling personality that impacted many lives. During her life, she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Weidiville. Her spare time was devoted to loving her family and friends, and spending time outdoors with there husband and her "precious little girl" Princess. Doris is survived by husband of 28 years Bob Burk, of Brenham, sons and daughters in-law; Bobby Fielden Jr. and wife Debra of West Columbia; Chad Burk and wife Jennifer of Jupiter, Florida; Shawn Burk of Austin; brother and sister-in-law; Kenneth Danford and wife Gwen of Brazoria; sisters; Ruth Amason of Brazoria; Deborah Rabe of West Columbia; grandchildren; Chelsea Fielden and Zachery Burk; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Serves, Alan Jacobs, Paul Kendall, Ruben Najera, Ricky Weiss, Gary Jeter, Carey Counsil, and Chad Soileau. Honorary pallbearers will be KJ Rabe, Jason Martin, Mike Danford and Mark Danford.
