Doris Drews

Doris (Schwartz) Drews, 73, widow of Fritz Drews, Jr., died June 24, 2016 in College Station.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Minister Jason Drews officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Doris Drews was born November 18, 1942 in the William Penn Community of Washington County to Lonnie and Wilma Schulze Schwartz. She was baptized at Christian Faith in 2000.

Doris worked as an office manager for J. C. Penney. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting, crafts, and praise dancing. She was especially interested in teaching, especially children, and was the superintendent of education at her church. Doris was a licensed minister at Deliverers of God Ministries, and she enjoyed ministering to residents of local nursing homes.

Survivors include her son, Jason Drews; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Barbara Schwartz; sister and brother-in-law, Artie and Carlton Klussmann, all of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, and an infant daughter, Stacey Drews.
