Doris Manning

Doris Joan Manning, 80, wife of Bill Manning, died May 20, 2013 at Brenham Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2013 at Chappell Hill United Methodist Church in Chappell Hill, with Pastor Steve Shrock officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Burial will take place Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the Gonzales Masonic Cemetery in Gonzales. Doris Joan Manning was born July 7, 1932 in Gonzales to Donald F. and Georgia Pettus Clark. After completing her education, she married Bill Manning on July 8, 1954 in Gonzales. She was a homemaker, and later worked for Wal-Mart. Memberships included the VFW Auxiliary and the Lioness Club. Survivors include her husband, Bill Manning of Chappell Hill; sons Donald Burt Manning of Chappell Hill, and Jeffery Lynn Manning and wife Susan of Houston; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Lynn Manning, Jr., and David Clark, and a brother, Tim Clark of Forreston, TX.
