Dorothy (Dot) Arlitt age 88, died peacefully on January 29, 2018 at the long-term care unit of Kruse Village in Brenham, Texas. Dot was born on October 29, 1929 in Hamilton, Texas.
She worked in several banks in Hamilton and Brenham before joining the Texas Department of Agriculture in Brenham. She later volunteered in a number of charitable organizations including Goodfellows and Hospice Brazos Valley. Her Hospice service spanned over 20 years.
Dot married Victor Arlitt in 1950. They met when she was the cute popcorn girl at the movie theater. They were married for 68 years, together for 70, and still in love!
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas and is survived by her husband, Victor Arlitt, her sons Mark and Mike Arlitt of Austin and Houston, Texas and their spouses, Allison and Chris Arlitt. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Eisner of Fredericksburg, Texas and her five grandchildren, Austin and Adam Arlitt of Austin, Texas and Ryan, Niki and Alex Arlitt of Houston, Texas.
The family is grateful to all of those at Hospice Brazos Valley, Brenham Nursing and Rehab, Argent Court, Kruse Village and Compassionate Care Hospice for their care and support in Dot’s last year with us.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 31. A Devotional Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. for family and friends. The funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 1. A graveside service will follow the funeral and friends and family are invited back the Grace Lutheran Church after the graveside service for refreshments and fellowship.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley.
