Funeral services for Dorothy Lee Dickerson, 83, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. After the burial service a memorial dove release will take place by Heavenly Wings White Dove Release. Dorothy Lee Dickerson, widow of Wilburn Dickerson, passed away October 9, 2013 at Brenham Rest Home. Born June 1, 1930 in Brenham to Paul and Lillie Ott Neinast, she attended area schools, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. For many years she was employed by Ellison''s Greenhouses. Dorothy loved to cook, and was an avid gardener with a "green thumb." She treasured time spent with her family and friends, and her sons were the center of her life. Survivors include her sons, Robert Dickerson, Donald Dickerson, and Mark Dickerson and friend, Elizabeth Ramey, all of Brenham. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Bill Robbins of Brenham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Paul Neinast, Jr., and Reuben Neinast, and two sisters, Alberta Robbins, and Lillie Simank. Serving as pallbearers are James Robbins, Shea Robbins, Steven Tackett, Charley Hackemack, Steve Barnett, Ken Kuecker, and Pat Kelly. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley.
