Dorothy Faye Hahn

Brenham

Dorothy Faye (Hinze) Hahn, widow of Floyd Hahn, passed away on June 13, 2024 at Brenham Nursing and Rehab. 

She was born March 24, 1944 in the Kenney Community of Austin County, Texas to Herbert and Almeida Rosenbaum Hinze. She was baptized on August 13, 1944 at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas by Rev. T. H. Graalmann, confirmed on March 22, 1959 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Brenham, Texas by Rev. Thomas H. Swygert. She attended Washington County public schools and the Brenham Independent School District. On October 21, 1962, she married Floyd Hahn at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas by Rev. Theodore R. Streng. 

She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, was a long-time employee of Perry Bros. and B. I. S. D. Food Service.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth and Edward Schulte and May Dell Kuhlmann; brother-in-law, Henry Schmidt; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd; brother-in-law, Harold Kuhlmann and sister-in-law, Gloria Schmidt.

Serving as pallbearers are Keith Kuhlmann, Glenn Flentge, Brent Gaskamp, Kevin Schulte, Brad Flentge, Daniel Lee and Bradley Schmidt. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Gaskamp and Craig Flentge.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Brenham Nursing and Rehab and Hospice Brazos Valley for their compassionate care.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.
