Dorothy Hahn

Dorothy Delores Hahn, 97, of Brenham, TX passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022.

A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Matthew Jacobs, and Pastor William Holzer officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Dorothy was born April 13, 1924 to Charlie and Rosa Horstmann Witte in William Penn. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Wm. Penn by Reverend C.J. Appel. On July 8, 1945 she was united in marriage to Eugene “Jack” Hahn at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas.

Dorothy was a faithful life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of Hermann. During WWII, she worked as an electrical welder at the Houston Ship Channel. Dorothy loved to play bingo, cards, dominos, go fishing and shopping and to go bowling.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Willms of Brenham; grandsons, Ronald Willms of Brenham and James Willms of Ft. Worth. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Jack” Hahn; parents, Charlie and Rosa Witte, brother Melvin Witte, sister, Viola Witte, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willie Loesch, Gail Hahn, and Bernice Hahn.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Matt Moudry.
