Dorothy Lehrmann

Dorothy Lee (Weinert) Lehrmann, 89, of Brenham, wife of Kirby Emery Lehrmann died May 24, 2018 in Brenham. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton, with Pastors Glenn Schoenberg, Charles Stark and Riza Garza officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family and friends will be on May 26, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Dorothy was born in Burton on January 1, 1929 to Ernest G. and Lillie Prenzler Weinert. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton. She graduated from Burton High School in 1946. On May 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Kirby Emery Lehrmann in St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton. What a blessing to have celebrated 70 years of marriage last Wednesday!

She enjoyed gardening, baking, spending time with her family, taking care of their dog "Millie" and was an avid Astros fan for many years. She was a faithful member of her church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies’ Circle. Following graduation from high school, she attended Austin Business School. For over 30 years she was employed at Washington County State Bank.

Survivors include her loving husband, Kirby; daughters and son-in-laws, Linda and Ray Thaler of Brenham; Ann and Larry Pape of Brenham; grandchildren, Robert Lehrmann of Brenham, Ron (Bebe) and Haley Lehrmann of Hunt, Texas, Bruce Lehrmann of Australia and Bobbie Jane Lehrmann of Australia, Amy and Brad Fritsch of Fayetteville, Ryan and Megan Pape of Brenham, Angie and Sam Hodde of Burton, Matt and Patricia Thaler of Brenham, Lindsay and Blake Henry of Brenham; great-grandchildren, Bryana and Lillie Lehrmann, Maci Lehrmann, Lane, Logan, and Lawson Fritsch, Ava and Emery Pape, Natalie and Preston Hodde, Vicente Veliz and Aaron Thaler, Madalyn and Vivian Henry; sister-in-law, Gertrude Lehrmann Schoeder of Brenham. Special cousins William (Billy) and Pat Wendler and Debbie Lehrmann.

She was preceded in death by: son, Robert (Bob) Lehrmann Sr.; great grandaughter Averie Fritsch; her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Bertha Lehrmann; brother-in-law, Reuben (Jim) Lehrmann, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edmond and Lynette Lehrmann, and Elton G. and Geneva Tonn; and cherished cousins, Otto and Dorothy Louise Lehrmann.

Serving as pallbearers are William Wendler, Tommy Matthies, Bobby Neinast, Henry (Bubba) Neinast, Jon Hill, Ben Flencher, James Lehrmann and Marshall Everett. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren; special caregivers, Irma Pruitt and Sarah Thomas; and the staff of Argent Court Care Facility.

Memorials may be given to St. John’s United Church of Christ of Burton or Hospice Brazos Valley.
