Dorothy "Louise" Phillips Gibert Riggs died on July 29, 2013, at the age of 91. Visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, August 1 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, near Burton. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Louise was born on December 27, 1921, to Frank Wesley Phillips and Tennie Mayfield Phillips in Mt. Enterprise, TX, Rusk County. She was married to Albert Gibert on October 5, 1940. She was widowed in January, 1963, and she married Harlon Riggs in September, 1967. Louise was a homemaker and then an LVN. She was an expert seamstress, making all of her daughters'' clothing as they grew up. She loved her family and enjoyed activities at her church. When she was able, she participated in circle, Bible study, quilting and altar guild. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter and son-in-law Carolyn Gibert and Bill Wolverton, stepson Darwin Riggs, two brothers Buel Phillips and Clarence Phillips, and one sister-in-law Margaret Phillips. She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Gibert Webb, stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kathy Riggs and Odel Altom; stepson, Larry Riggs; brother, Frank Phillips, Jr.; sister-in-law, Evelyn Phillips; grandchildren, Tom and Jen Wolverton, Glen and Julia Wolverton, Melissa Wolverton and Paul Mortensen, Heather Webb Robards, Printice Webb III, Lisa and John Rhodes, Jeff and Jennifer Altom and Frank Riggs. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Glen Wolverton, Printice Webb III, Frank Riggs, Curtis Wolverton, Brandon Wolverton and Josh Engstrom.
