Dorothy Mae Kelm Rodenbeck, 77, widow of Ervin Rodenbeck, died January 5, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Dorothy was born October 2, 1932 in Brenham to Henry and Hulda Draeger Kelm. She was baptized December 4, 1932, and confirmed April 7 of 1946 in St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. She was a graduate of Somerville High School. On June 24, 1950, she married Ervin Rodenbeck, also in St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. Dorothy was a homemaker, and a life member of St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. She was employed by several retail stores, including The New York Store, White House, Brenham Saddle Shop, and later worked for Schroeder and Ehlert Insurance Co., Reeves Ham Insurance, as well as Kelm''s Store. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Craig Borchardt of Brenham; grandchildren Morgan Borchardt, Joshua Borchardt, and Mary Borchardt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Lucille Kelm, Charlie and Bernice Rodenbeck, Martha Rodenbeck, and Elton Rodenbeck, all of Brenham. Her husband, Ervin Rodenbeck, preceded her in death on May 4, 1993. She was also predeceased by her parents, a brother, Gilbert Kelm, and a brother-in-law, Melvin Rodenbeck. Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Rodenbeck will be held Friday January 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Mike Brau, Mike Kelm, Kelly Kelm, Curtis Rodenbeck, Chip Andreas, Bradley Fischer, and Carl Rodenbeck. All friends and relatives of the family will be considered honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
