Dorothy Ann Ruemke, 77, died June 20, 2017 in Bryan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2017 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Dorothy Ann Ruemke was born September 5, 1939 in East Bernard to Arnold and Elsie Wehmeier Bosse. She was baptized October 16, 1939 in East Bernard, and confirmed April 6, 1952 in Whitehall. On June 21, 1958, she married Edward Ruemke in Zionsville. She was a member of Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church for over 50 years, and was retired from Trinity Medical Center, where she was employed as Dietary Manager. Dorothy was also a member of Berlin-Mill Creek-Zionsville VFD.
Dorothy enjoyed going to the beauty shop, as well as participating in events at the Senior Center (WCHLA), as well as at her church. She was a fan of Blue Bell ice cream, and made sure she always had Homemade Vanilla on hand. Dorothy was known for her delicious peanut brittle.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Catherine Ruemke; daughters Debora Talamantez, and Carolyn Brister and husband Michael, all of Brenham; sister and brother-in-law Lorene and Clarence Ruemke of Carmine; grandchildren: Joshua and Charlotte (Charly) Ruemke of Spring; Carlee Ruemke of Brenham; Cody Steinfeld and fiancé Catherine Peacher of Kingwood, Cory Steinfeld, and Alyssa and Anthony Talamantez, all of Brenham; great-grandchildren: Lena and Cora Ruemke and baby boy Jensen, arriving in August. Also surviving is her special friend, Dorothy Hohlt.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Edward Ruemke.
Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Ruemke, Cody Steinfeld, Cory Steinfeld, Anthony Talamantez, Clarence Steinfeld, Kenneth Ruemke, Michael Ruemke, and Bruce Hohlt.
Memorials may be directed to Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church or to the Senior Center.
