Dorothy Sidenblad

Dorothy Jean "Dot" Sidenblad, wife of F.L. "Sid" Sidenblad, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 16, 2015. Her loving family celebrates her life and her witness in her Homecoming. Born in Bedias, TX., Dot lived in Houston and moved to Washington County twenty- seven years ago, where she enjoyed her time with family, her love of sunsets and Texas wildflowers. Her desires to worship and serve her Lord wherever she lived were filled with her fellowship at Calvary Baptist - Brenham and First Baptist Church - Somerville. Here her garden of friends flourished. Sid and Dot were married in on December 2, 1949 in Houston, TX. Their marriage was blessed by their daughter, Beverly. The delights of Dot''s life were her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who lovingly call her "Granna D." Dot is survived by her husband, Sid Sidenblad; daughter and son-in-law, Bev and Stan Gore; grandchildren, Craig and Laura Martin, Cody Martin, Kelly and Adam Law; great-grandchildren, Riley Martin, Annabelle Law, and Dylan Martin. She is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Eva Scardino, Peggy Fisher, and Linda and Tommy Russell. Other survivors include her Aunt Ruth Davis, sisters-in-law Margie Sidenblad and Florence Sidenblad, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Dot will be truly and greatly missed by her family and many friends. Family visitation is Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Services are Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Chapel 1306 West Main, Brenham, TX 77833. Memorial remembrances can be made to First Baptist Church Somerville, Calvary Baptist in Brenham, or a charity of choice.
