Dorscile Badke, 89, died July 30, 2019 in Brenham.

Dorscile was born in Brenham on January 27, 1930 to Henry C. and Malinda M. Wieghat Wehring. She was baptized March 2, 1930 in Brenham.

After completing her high school education at Brenham High School, Dorscile was later employed as a department store manager in Houston until her retirement.

On April 15, 1948, she was married to Ted E. Badke at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Jo Lynn and Benjamin Acosta, Jr. of San Juan, Puerto Rico; daughter-in-law Lynda Harwell of Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren Benjamin Acosta III, Jonathan Acosta, Matthew Acosta, Heather Merriwether, and Kevin Badke; great-grandchildren Andrew Acosta, Siena Acosta, Emma Acosta, Isla Acosta, and Carter Merriwether. Other surviving relatives are granddaughters-in-law Julie Worley, Megan Acosta, and Danishka Figueroa.

Mrs. Badke was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Elo Badke, and son, Douglas Wayne Badke.

Memorial contributions in her name can be directed to Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dorscile’s dear friend, Glenda Eberhart, for all of her love and support throughout the years; to Gene Swonke for caring for her home and property; and to the Kruse Village and Brazos Valley Hospice nurses and staff for all the love and attention they gave her during her stay at Kruse Village.

A Memorial Service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
