Douglas Marvin Chenault, 90, of Burton, TX, died on August 11, 2020 in Burton, TX.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Chenault was born on February 11, 1930 in Navasota, TX to John and Christene Konecny Chenault. He married his wife, Beth Cory, on November 26, 1953 and were married for sixty-six years.
Douglas loved his family. He graduated from Navasota High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He worked for forty-three years for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He retired to Burton, TX in 2002. He loved to go hunting, fishing, making cedar canes, and crosses as gifts.
Mr. Chenault is survived by his wife, Beth Chenault of Burton, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sissy Chenault of Houston, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Dena and David Lakin of Millican, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Charley and Betty Chenault of Burton, TX; sister-in-law, Polly Chenault of Buchanan Dam, TX; sister, Barbara Wilkes of Burton, TX; grandchildren, Colt Chenault and wife Robin of Houston, TX, Josh Lakin of Millican, TX, and Nathan Lakin of Millican, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Cory Douglas Chenault; parents, John Alvin and Christene Chenault; brothers, John Chenault and James Wesley Chenault.
Memorials may be directed to St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton, TX.
