Dr. Weaver

Dr. Cecil Don Weaver, 57, of Burton, owner of Brenham Veterinary Hospital, husband of Kathy O''Brien Weaver, passed away March 23, 2009 in Trinity Medical Center. Born July 11, 1951 in Abilene, Texas to Cecil C. and Margaret Alice Donnell Weaver, he was baptized in Albany, Texas. Dr. Weaver completed undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University and received a B.S. in Pharmacology from Southwest Oklahoma State University. He received a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Texas A&M University. On June 30, 2007, he married Kathleen O''Brien in Albany, Texas. . He was a member of T.V.M.A., as well as the Brenham Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Bluebonnet Area Veterinary Medical Association, the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, NCHA, the Brazos Area Veterinary Medical Association, and the Society of Theriogenology. In addition, he was a Washington County Fair supporter, a member of the Friends of Camp for All, the Jobs Partnership Association, and the Veterinary Management Group No. 11. He was also a member of Country Bible Church. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Weaver of Burton; mother, Margaret Weaver of Los Lunas, NM; son Benjamin Don Weaver of Nashville, TN and brother and sister-in-law Roy William and Peggy Weaver of Los Lunas, NM. Also surviving are his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Richard and Honore O''Brien of Whitestone, Va; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Corrinne and Tom Nelson of Petersburg, Va., and Richard III and Carol O''Brien of Purlear, N.C. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil C. Weaver. Funeral services for Dr. Cecil Don Weaver will be held Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Brenham, with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Interment will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Albany Cemetery in Albany, Texas. The Rev. Mike Smith will also officiate at the graveside service in Albany. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Jack Ancone, Darrell Kieke, Jimmy Detro, Charles LaMarr, James Stastny, and Dr. William O''Brien. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Paret, Bill Kacal, John Kenjura, Don Sustaire, and the Brenham Veterinary Hospital Family. The graveside service in Albany will have James Mitchell, Bufford Salters, John Webb, Bill Sidwell, Walter Glasgow, and James Stastny as pallbearers, with Joe Bob Brewster serving as honorary pallbearer. Memorials may be directed to Brenham Hospice, Camp for All, Country Bible Church, and Texas Veterinary Medical Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
