Dr. Eileen Robertson Champ Wuycheck of Brenham, TX and the widow of Ludwig Wilhelm Wuycheck, died March 7, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. She was born in Vigo County, near Terre Haute along the Wabash River on October 4, 1914. She attended Indiana State University, University of Houston, and Texas A&M. She earned a B.S., M.Ed., Ph.D. Dr. Wuycheck was a teacher, a principal, and an administrator in H.I.S.D. for 14 years. She taught Psychology at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas and was a Dean to Walter C. Schwartz, Dean of Student Affairs for 12 years. She sponsored the Student Council at Blinn. In Houston, Dr. Wuycheck was president of a 1400 member Chapter of A.C.E. She taught or supervised from Kindergarten through all grades including Senior College. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution a descendent of Duke Ransford Bentley, the Bluebonnet Garden Club, Burton Lioness Club, Brenham University Women, Washington County Heritage Society, Brenham Heritage Museum, Washington County Chamber of Commerce, First United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Kappa Delta Pi. She is survived by a son in Falls Church, VA, Dr. Michael A. Champ and a son in Asheville, NC, Charles Walton Champ, a brother Richard Bentley Robertson of Baton Rouge, LA, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her husband Ludwig Wilhelm Wuycheck, her mother Mary Agnes Bentley and her father Augustus Lane Robertson, her brother Julian A. Robertson and many aunts and uncles preceded her in death. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11 at First United Methodist Church in Brenham with Dr. Wesley Welborn officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, and from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Pallbearers are Don Smith, Gilbert Muery, Bill Shaw, Dr. Don Voelter, Wilfred Dierich and Bill Neinast. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Bluebonnet Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. At the family s request, memorials may be given to Blinn College to support Women s Scholarships, 902 College Avenue, Brenham, TX 77833.
