Earl Nitsch

Earl James Nitsch, 90, husband of Evelyn Ruth Loesch Nitsch, passed away January 6, 2018 in Giddings.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Earl James Nitsch was born August 4, 1927 in Houston to Otto Alfred and Clara Bertha Petrich Nitsch. He was baptized November 20, 1927, and confirmed March 17, 1940. A 1945 graduate of Klein High School, he attended the University of Houston’s school of technology. Mr. Nitsch served his country in the U. S. Army, serving as an honor guard for Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the postwar occupation of Japan.

On September 24, 1955, he married Evelyn Ruth Loesch. He was employed as an electronics technician for Hughes Tool Company. He treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren, and was a loving father and husband. Traveling with his wife, and working on his farm were favorite activities.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Nitsch of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Vickie Nitsch of Spring; daughter, Pamela Panettiere of Houston; sisters-in-law Carrie Viningre of Tomball and Evelyn Loesch of Georgetown; grandchildren: Anthony and Jennifer Panettiere; great grandson, Luke Panettiere, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Nitsch was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Clara Nitsch; brother, Alfred Nitsch; brother-in-law Harvey Loesch, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ella and Oscar Loesch.

Serving as pallbearers are Mark Schwartz, Matt Harper, Robert Petrich, James Nitsch, Charles Nitsch, and Eugene Nitsch.

Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, the Washington Co. E.M.S., or Hospice Brazos Valley of Brenham.
