Earlene Welch Eastep, 85, of Brenham, died March 9, 2005, at her residence. Mrs. Eastep was born March 7, 1920, in Franklin, Robinson County, Texas, to Frank and Addie Click Welch. She was baptized in 1945 in First Baptist Church in Marshall. On July 6, 1934, she was married to Charles Eastep in Franklin. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brenham and enjoyed antiques, especially shopping for them at estate and garage sales. Survivors include her husband, Charles Eastep of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law, Imogene Eastep of Waco, Charlene and Doug McKee of League City and Peggy and Ben Bush of Brenham; brothers, Alfred Welch and James Welch, both of Jacksonville, Florida, Darryl Welch of Tampa, Florida and Wendell Welch of Waco; sisters, Louise W. Everette of Jacksonville, Florida and Berneice W. Kerr of Jacksonville, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Dean and Charles; brothers, Ferman and Aubrey; and sisters, Ethel W. Abshire and Mary Charles. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Troy Sikes officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be James Fritz, Don Kramer and Larry Weaver. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, 2400 Augusta Dr., Suite 175, Houston, TX 77057 or Hospice, 705 S. Austin, Brenham, TX 77833. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
