Eddie Charles Zibilski was born on October 27, 1920 on a farm near Burton to Wilhelm (Willie) and Minnie Herms Zibilski. He passed away on January 9, 2016 in Brenham.
On December 12, 1920, Eddie was baptized in the St. Johns Evangelical Church in Burton and confirmed in the same church on April 14 1935. He lived for twenty-one years on the Burton farm before serving in the US Army Medical Corps from July 22, 1942 to November 11, 1945. Thirty months of that time he was in North Africa, Italy and France. After being discharged from the Army, he moved to Houston.
Eddie Zibilski and Ruby Adams were married on February 18, 1950 in Richmond, Texas and celebrated fifty years of marriage. In 1951 Eddie joined the Park Place Lutheran Church in Houston where he served as an usher and on the Property Committee. He worked at the American Can Company in Houston for thirty-five years. In June 2004, Eddie moved to Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village in Brenham.
Preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister (Alma) and two brothers (Willie and Albert), Eddie is survived by nieces: Rosa Lee Williams, Jeanette Newton, Mary Woodson, Susan Adams and Patricia Holland and a nephew, Edward Zibilski.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:30 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham. Interment will be at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston.
