Edmund Dube

Edmund N. Dube, beloved husband of Irene Dube, died August 15, 2004 in Irving, Texas. He was born February 12, 1912, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Karl and Elizabeth Dube, being the fourth of five sons. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith in New Orleans, and in 1925, was confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas, where his parents moved a few years after his birth. Edmund served his country during World War II in the US Army in the European Theater, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. Upon returning to civilian life, his chosen profession was accounting. On December 17, 1981, he and Irene were united in marriage at Memorial Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. They moved to Brenham a few years later and lived there for eleven years before moving to Irving, Texas, to be near Irene s son who looked after them. Edmond is survived by his wife, Irene; stepson: Richard W. Harper; nieces: Carol Dube Clay, Kay Dube Allensworth, and nephew: L.O. Dube; sisters-in-law: Alvina Dube and Maxine Dube. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and his first wife, Eugenia Knepple Dube. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. in Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham with Pastors Michael McFarland and Matthew Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham.
