Edna Lorenz Fritz, 92, of Brenham, died Nov. 2, 2006, at Brenham Rest Home. Mrs. Fritz was born March 23, 1914, in the Phillipsburg community of Washington County, Texas, to Hugo and Emma Stern Lorenz. She was baptized June 28, 1914, in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg by Rev. J. Appel and was confirmed on April 7, 1929, in the same church by Rev. J. Holms. Mrs. Fritz attended Wonder Hill School. On Sept. 20, 1934, she was married to Albert Fritz at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg by Rev. Hasskarl. Mrs. Fritz was a retired winder operator at Brentex Mills and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Milton and Gladys Fritz of Brenham; daughter, Florine Raska of Brenham; 7 grandchildren, Micheal Fritz and wife Marie, Douglas Fritz and wife Kathy, Carolyn Batts and husband Leroy, Judy Abel, Bradley Raska and wife Tracy, Shane Raska and Randy Raska; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Lorenz of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Fritz, on Sept. 23, 1985; grandson, David Lee Raska; grandson-in-law, James Abel; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Roy Hegefeld, Henry Wittner, Shawn Gallagher, Herman Butch Lorenz, Wayne Hegefeld and Jerry Vierus. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church of Salem or the charity of your choice.
