Edna Mae Reue Moeller was born January 19, 1928 in Freeport, Texas to Robert Collins and Bernice Williams Collins. She departed for heaven on August 5, 2012. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul''s Episcopal Church in Freeport. She was married to Alfred Reue on December 11, 1949 at St. Paul''s Episcopal Church. She was a city girl and marrying a German farm boy was quite a change. She grew to love the farm in Washington County even though they lived in Houston and Pasadena until their sons graduated from high school. They were married 44 years at the time of his death. Edna attended schools in Freeport and graduated from Brazoria High School in 1946. Upon graduation she obtained her certification as a radiologic technologist and worked at the Jeff Davis hospital in Houston and M.D. Anderson cancer treatment facility. Edna was also proud of her work as a radiologic technologist at the Johnson Spacecraft Center during the first years of the manned exploration of the moon. She would x-ray the astronauts before and after their excursions to the moon, as well as their space suits to look for leaks. She also loved the outdoors, camping during the summer at lakes in the Hill Country, crabbing at the coast, and fishing anywhere. Alfred and Edna moved to the family farm in Brenham upon his retirement in 1983, where they enjoyed farming, gardening, and attending dances with their friends. While Alfred attended to the farm, Edna took care of numerous children as the nurse at the Brenham Middle School for many years and made many close friends among the school staff. Edna''s faith in God was very important to her. She nurtured her sons'' faith by insisting on attending Sunday school at a Lutheran church regardless of where they were. The boys had 16 years of perfect attendance. Alfred and Edna valued education and were very proud that their sons completed law and medical schools. On December 17, 1994, Edna married the new love of her life, Waldo Eugene Moeller, at Salem Lutheran Church. Traveling became a favorite pastime for them as well as becoming pitch partners in many local tournaments. She enjoyed traveling with Waldo to his annual Navy ship reunions in many states around the country for the past 18 years. Edna and Waldo were very active in community organizations. Education was a top priority and they were strong supporters of Blinn College and were the primary contributors to the Moeller Reue Weiss MRW Studio Theatre in the O''Donnell Performing Arts Center as well as contributors to the A.W. Hodde Technical Center. All those who knew her will remember her gregarious personality, love for life, unquenchable energy, huge heart , and her big smile. Survivors include sons Judge Matthew Reue, Dr. David Reue and wife Susan of Austin; former daughter in-law, Tina Reue Webb; stepdaughter, Diane Pieper and husband Lloyd; and stepson, Weldon Moeller and wife Paulette. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and include Rachel Reue, Andrew Reue, Claire Reue, Colin Reue, Matt and Amy Pieper, Melanie and Donny Roberts, Aaron Moeller, Amanda Moeller and numerous great grandchildren who she loved and adored.
