Edna Schramme

Edna Schramme, 96, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Brenham.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Andrew Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation and a reception will be from 3 until 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church before the funeral service.

Edna Schramme was born in Brenham on December 10, 1922 to Meta (Haar) and Charles Winkelmann. She was baptized on March 4, 1923 and also confirmed on June 5, 1938.

Edna was married to Burney Schramme on August 17, 1944, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. She loved baking, playing cards and dominos, traveling and she was a huge Astros fan.

Edna Schramme enjoyed working in the cafeteria for the Brenham Independent School District.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Charles and Bettie Schramme; grandchildren Cassi and her husband Bubba Herrin, Chad and his wife Lori Schramme; great-grandchildren Brooke Herrin and special friend Alex Lara, Codi Herrin, Addison Schramme, and Wyatt Schramme; great-great grandchild Cayson Herrin; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband and her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law Reinhardt and Lorena Winkelmann, Larry and Violet Winkelmann, Walter and Elsie Winkelmann; sisters and brothers-in-law Lydia and Gordon Jones, and Selma and Wilfred Quebe; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edward and Carrie Scheffer.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Winkelmann, Ronnie Winkelmann, Gordon Jones, Kenneth Jones, Bubba Herrin, Alex Lara, Codi Herrin, Cayson Herrin, Wyatt Schramme, and Chad Schramme.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or to Hospice Brazos Valley.

Funeral arrangements for Edna Schramme are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
