Edward Joe Stegint

Edward Joe Stegint, age 77, of Hempstead, Texas, passed away on December 24, 2023.

Edward was born on September 3, 1946, to Felix and Catherine A. (Strzelecke) Stegint, in Brenham, Texas.

He was a graduate of Reagan High School in Houston, and worked as a welder fabricator in the oilfield industry until his retirement.

He was united in marriage on April 20, 1968, to Frances Marie Kubeczka and were later blessed with their only child, Sue.

Edward loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time outside going deer hunting and also coon hunting. He enjoyed his hound dogs and also working “hands on” building and welding. He loved spending time with family, especially his only daughter and son-in-law, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Mark Tate; granddaughters, Tyler Schneider and husband Kristofer and Tori Tate; and great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Lainey Schneider. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Danielle Stegint and sister, Mary Laas; numerous brothers-in- law, sisters-in-law and extended family.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Stegint; mother, Catherine Berger; father, Felix Stegint; sister, Dorothy Johnson and brother-in-law, Donald Laas.

The Funeral Service for Edward Joe Stegint will be at 12:00 PM, Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 AM until service time with a rosary recited at 11:30 AM. There will be a private family burial at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
