Edwin Christopher Allen Hoefelmeyer, 25, of Brenham, died September 19, 2011. Visitation will take place Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery of Prairie Hill. Pastor David Hansen will officiate. Chris was born September 5, 1986 in Brenham to Edwin and Mary Jane Albert Hoefelmeyer. After graduating high school, he was employed as a sausage-maker and earlier he worked on oil rigs. Chris loved bow fishing with his buddies, hunting with his daddy, and riding 4-wheelers with his fiancé and his brothers. He enjoyed fishing the Brazos River with his friends and family. Chris was always willing to lend a helping hand. If you needed help chasing cows, fixing fence, mowing the pasture, or working on your car he would be there for you. Survivors include his father, Edwin Hoefelmeyer and his wife Debbie; daughter Ellie Maye Jones of Bryan; grandmother, Irene Gurka; fiancé Wendy Hancock; brothers B. J. Hoefelmeyer and Cody Hoefelmeyer; special friends Diane and Eugene Laskoskie, Victoria and Jerry Gurka, Josh Wiesepape, David Lynch, and Jeremy Gurka. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Hoefelmeyer and a half-brother, Travis Gary. Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Lynch, Josh Wiesepape, Cody Hofelmeyer, B. J. Hoefelmeyer, Richard Laskoskie, Jimmy Laskoskie, Justin Lampe, and Brendan Duckett. Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Laskoskie, Jerry Gurka, and Robert Lee Gurka.
