Eileen Wehring Wehmeyer, 86, widow of Paul Wehmeyer, of Brenham, passed away June 3, 2008 in Trinity Care Center. Mrs. Wehmeyer was born Feb. 14, 1922 in the Prairie Hill Community of Washington County to Otto and Hattie Schulz Wehring. She was baptized April 2, 1922 in St. John''s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, and confirmed there on May 9, 1937. She was educated in Prairie Hill School. On July 14, 1946, she married Paul Wehmeyer in St. John''s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Mrs. Wehmeyer was a homemaker. She served as a past president of the American Legion Post # 48 Auxiliary. Survivors include daughter, Betty Jo Wehmeyer of Brenham; brothers and sisters–in-law Otto Jr. and Doris Wehring, and Harry and Janet Wehring; sisters Helen Bockhorn and Mavis Zuehlke and husband Paul, Jr. and sister-in-law Ruth Wehmeyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul Wehmeyer in August of 1986; an infant sister, and a brother, Wilburn Wehring. Funeral services for Eileen Wehmeyer will be held at Saturday, June 7, 2008 10:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Lydia Paterson officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials should be directed to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salem. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
