Elaine Horan

Elaine E. Salmela Horan, 82, of Brenham, died March 4, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center, Bryan. Elaine was born on January 16, 1929 to Edward August and Eva Marie Kokko Salmela. She graduated from Cokato High School in MN and earned her R.N. in 1976 after attending St. Mary''s College of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN. Survivors include her husband, Johnny Horan of Brenham; son, Edward Manthei of Minnetonka, Minnesota; daughter and son-in-law: Sandy Matyi and husband John of El Paso; sister Helen Mattilla of Annandale, Minnesota; grandson, John Leighton Matyi and wife Stephanie, great-granddaughter Rylie Matyi of Las Cruces, New Mexico; grandson Mark Matyi of El Paso; step-daughters Vickie Burnett, Lisa Ginapp, Eva Adler, Lisa Short, Tina Herrera and sons-in-laws; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. March 26, 2011 at Grace Community Fellowship with Pastor Mike Rod officiating.
