Eleanor Hendrickson

Marie Hendrickson, 82, passed away March 10, 2017 at her residence in Chappell Hill.

Born June 4, 1934 in San Angelo to Herman Edward and Wille Edna Cummings Morris, she married George Hendrickson on September 4, 1954.

Marie was a loving wife, sister, mother, and “Meme”, whose life was totally invested in her family, her friends, and her Savior. She was a devoted Christian who, for the last 26 years, was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Brenham, Texas, where she served on numerous church committees.

Over the course of her churchgoing life, her love of music and her desire to serve the Lord led her to sing in the choir, sing in a trio, and serve as church pianist. Through each hug, through every kiss, through all bits of wisdom imparted, she made her ceaseless love for her family known. Her love for Christ called her to devote herself to others, and she demonstrated Christ’s love and compassion to all she met.

Funeral services for Marie will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church, with Darren Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Lorinda and Roger DeLaughter of Cypress; Donna and Bobby Morris of Montgomery; brother and sister-in-law Ray and Beverly Morris of Chappell Hill; grandchildren: Jonathan Paul DeLaughter and wife Kate; Tiffany Kaye Cooper and husband Dale; April Leigh Jackson and husband Eric; Adam Ross Morris; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Marie Wallin Cooper, Jordan Lea Cooper, Addison Leigh Jackson, Parker Lee Jackson, and Colton Paul DeLaughter. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, George Kenneth Hendrickson, and parents, Herman and Edna Morris.

Serving as pallbearers are Jonathan DeLaughter, Adam Morris, Eric Jackson, Dale Cooper, Brady Hughes and Mark Hendrickson.
