Elizabeth Lewer, 85, of Washington, TX, went to her heavenly home on September 19, 2020 in Bryan, TX.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The family will be present during the visitation from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

All are welcome to the graveside service, which will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020 at Prairie Lea Cemetery, with Pastor Matthias Dinger of Trinity Lutheran Church of Navasota officiating. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be encouraged and face masks will be required at the service.

Mrs. Lewer was born on December 14, 1934 in Vanderbilt, TX to Raymon E. Haynes and Hertha Huseman Haynes Roberts. She was baptized on December 25, 1934 in Vanderbilt, TX. She was confirmed in 1948 in Raymondville, TX. She married her husband, Donald Alvin Lewer, on October 3, 1951 in Raymondville, TX.

Mrs. Lewer was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Navasota. She loved her children and grandchildren very much, and they were very important to her. She liked flowers, plants, trees, cats, wildlife, and cards and letters. She enjoyed 40s and 50s pop music. She was a passionate pianist and had a beautiful voice. She enjoyed visiting and talking with friends and family and telling them fun stories. She also enjoyed old TV comedies, such as The Carol Burnett Show and Ma and Pa Kettle.

Mrs. Lewer is survived by her husband, Donald Alvin Lewer of Navasota, TX; sons and daughters-in-law, Dorothy Lewer of Sikeston, MO, David Lewer and his wife Cheryl of Washington, TX, and Darrin Lewer and his wife Marina of Cypress, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Donna Glass and her husband T. Keith of Washington, TX; grandchildren, Kimberly Davidian, David Davidian, John Lewer, Adam Lewer, Daniel Lewer, Nancy Kluesner, Natalie Lewer, Nathan Lewer, Nolan Lewer, Don Glass, and Tracey Glass; great-grandchildren, Megan Davidian, Ethan Lewer, Emma Lewer, Chloe Kluesner, Katelyn Kluesner, Madelyn Kluesner, Pierce Lewer, Porter Lewer, Primley Lewer, Nathan Lewer, Nickkai Lewer, Nigel Lewer, Landon Lewer, Lincoln Lewer, and Jace Lewer.

She is preceded in death by her father, Raymon E. Haynes; mother, Hertha Huseman Haynes Roberts; brother, Billy Ray Haynes; and son, Donald Bryce Lewer.

Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church of Navasota and/or Hospice Brazos Valley.
