Ella Mae Knipstein Koerth, 75, of Brenham, died June 10, 2005 at her family residence. Mrs. Koerth was born July 30, 1929, in Burton, Texas, to Willie and Ella Maass Knipstein. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John s Evangelical Church of Burton. On April 3, 1949, she was married to Otto F. Koerth, Jr., in St. John s Evangelical Church in Burton. She worked for the Brenham Independent School District in the food service area. She was a member of the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church, and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a homemaker, gardener, rancher and seam stress. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Gary and Deitra Koerth, daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Kenneth Dreyer, and Sandra and Mike Sommerlatte; sister-in-laws, Deloris Knipstein, Rita Knipstein and Esther Kunkel; grandchildren Stacie and Stephen Draehn, Kristie and Brandon Marth, Scot Sommerlatte, Tracy Sommerlatte, Monica Koerth and Kailyn Koerth; great grandchildren Cameron Draehn, Carson Draehn and Baby Marth unborn child of Kristie and Brandon Marth. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Otto Koerth, Jr.; brothers James Knipstein and Willie Knipstein, Jr. and brother-in-law Felix Kunkel. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 13 in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church with Pastor Teresa Davis officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Marth, Stephen Draehn, Scot Sommerlatte, Darrell Knipstein, Ronald Knipstein, Mark Knipstein, Daniel Kunkel and Pedro Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilma Boeker, Joann Beckermann, Gladys Mondrofsky, Virginia Pieper, Clarice Hueske, Gladys Morgan and Sandra Hernandez. Memorials maybe given to Hospice of Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
