Elroy Schwartz

Elroy Schwartz, 70, of Brenham, passed away November 14, 2016 in Bellville.

Elroy was born June 26, 1946 in Brenham to Harold Gus and Welma Wanda Duesterhoft Schwartz. He was baptized in the Christian faith at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, where he remained a member until his death.

Elroy worked as an assembler at the Old Brazos Forge in past years. Recycling aluminum cans was a favorite hobby. He loved to watch T.V., especially the old westerns. Elroy loved visiting with his friends and enjoying a cup of coffee, his favorite drink.

Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry and Patricia Schwartz, David and Tammy Schwartz, and Randy and Mischelle Schwartz, all of Brenham, and a sister-in-law, Gladys Schwartz, also of Brenham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Welma Schwartz, and a brother , Harold Schwartz, Jr.

Serving as pallbearers are Mark Schwartz, Nicholas Schwartz, Donnie Schwartz, Dustin Schwartz, Jeffery Meads, and Alan Duesterhoft. Nieces, nephews, cousins, nurses and staff of Colonial Belle Nursing Home, as well as Dr. Nathan Simons, will be honorary pallbearers.

The funeral service for Elroy Schwartz will be at 10 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
