Elsie E. Schultz Meyer, 89, of New Ulm, died Feb. 22, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Meyer was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Austin County, Texas, to John and Annie Baca Schultz. On Nov. 18, 1937, she was married to Ben F. Meyer in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. Mrs. Meyer was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby and was a homemaker. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ben John and Delores Meyer of Brenham; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ora Dean and Otto Duesterhoft of Somerville and Janell and Dennie Marek of Industry; 11 grandchildren, Alan and Lisa Duesterhoft, Douglas and Karen Duesterhoft, Debbie and Carl Bartek, Sandra and Steven Maldanado, Otto III and Adalia Duesterhoft, Bryan and Tina Meyer, Laurie Meyer, Linda and Rick Kenjura, Cindy Kissel, Denise and Steven Plumb and Kim Pieper and friend Danny White; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben F. Meyer, on April 8, 2002; her parents; one brother; one sister; one grandchild; one great-great-grandson; and two nieces. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby with Pastor Pam Werrell officiating. Burial will be in the Latium Cemetery. Mrs. Meyer s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby.
