Elsie Linda Wiesepape Meyer, 90, of Brenham, died Sunday, July 11 at The Care Center of Brenham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July14 at 10:00 a.m. at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin with Kenneth Weiss officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Tuesday, July 13 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Meyer was born November 24, 1919, in the Salem community of Washington County, Texas, the daughter of Fred and Elsie Wiede Wiesepape. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem on March 25, 1934 by Pastor William Utesch. Mrs. Meyer was educated in Salem Public Schools. On October 10, 1954, she was married to Harry Albert Meyer in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin by Pastor Raymond Wolf. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1995. Mrs. Meyer was a retired self-employed seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She was a member of American Legion Post 48 of Brenham and Sons of Hermann, Gay Hill. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Beckendorf and special friend David Doty and Rebecca Ehlert and husband John, all of Brenham; grandchildren, Justin and Jodi Beckendorf of Conroe, Brandon Beckendorf of Carrollton, Michael Ehlert of Brenham and Matthew and Mallory Ehlert of Brenham; great-grandchildren, Ben Beckendorf and Annie Beckendorf of Conroe; brother-in-law Jerry Meyer of Brenham; sisters-in-law, Doris Wiesepape of Brenham, Hertha Burkhalter of Bryan, Hermenia Dunn of Granbury, Gay Meyer of Pasadena, and Ruth Meyer of Pasadena and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Harry Wiesepape, Henry Wiesepape, Fred Wiesepape and Otto Wiesepape; and sisters, Lonie Urban and Martha Klingsporn. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Justin Beckendorf, Brandon Beckendorf, Michael Ehlert and Matthew Ehlert, and also Clarence Eben; and David Beckendorf. Memorials may be given to Eben Ezer Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham.
