Elsie Schneider

Elsie Schneider, 91, of Brenham, died November 4, 2008, in Bluebonnet Hills Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Schneider was born April 1, 1917, in the Zionsville community of Washington County, Texas, to Louis and Ida Lorenz Grimm. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville and was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg. She attended Wonder Hill School. On February 27, 1935, she was married to Willie Schneider, Sr. in Brenham. Mrs. Schneider was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill and was formerly employed at Trinity Medical Center. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Deborah Schneider of Brenham; her daughters and son-in-law, Adolphine and Elwood Oevermann, Elsie Wegner and Peggy Kunkel, all of Brenham; daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Schneider of Brenham; grandchildren, Gail and Ronnie Stanley, Troy and Connie Oevermann, Connie and Mark Klausmeyer, Jerry and Beth Kunkel, Keith Kunkel and special friend Cammy Sheffield, Michael and Jo Wegner, Jennifer and Ricky Wilson and Jason and Stacey Bolcerek; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Freddie Moehlmann of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Schneider, Sr.; her son, Willie Schneider, Jr.; sons-in-law, Joe Wegner and Gene Kunkel; three brothers; three sisters; and her stepmother. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Pastor David Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.
