Elsie Malinda Loesch Tegeler, 91, widow of Raymond Tegeler, passed away January 31, 2013 in Brenham Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg, with Pastor Robert Sorensen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Elsie was born June 12, 1921 in Brenham to Otto Carl and Meta Noerenberg Loesch. She was baptized Aug. 21, 1921 in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor Affelbach, and confirmed there on April 14, 1935 by Rev. P. Gogolin. On January 7, 1940, she married Raymond Tegeler in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. After making their home in the Washington Co. area, they became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg, where Elsie served as secretary for 10 years. She was also employed by Port City/Brenham Livestock Auction for 30 years. Elsie was an avid and talented gardener, and received numerous awards for her achievements. Homemade chicken soup, complete with homemade noodles, was a favorite dish to prepare for her family. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Barbara Tegeler of Chappell Hill; daughter, Doris Stickley Koehne of Chappell Hill; grandchildren Leslie Stickley and Scott Mount, Craig and Angie Stickley, Christi Tegeler and Frank Crone, and Terri Tegeler and Rex White; great-grandchildren: Robert and Michael Mount, Skylar and Morgan Stickley, Harrison, Hannah and Hallelujah Crone, Rankin, Annabelle, Ella Grace and Samuel White; sisters Hilda Lorenz and Alma Kenjura, Selma and Robert Wellmann, all of Brenham, Rosa Lee Lohmeyer of Washington, Ella Nora Flynt of Iola, and Edna Schroeder of Washington; sisters-in-law Ella Tegeler and Lydia Loesch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond Tegeler, brothers Melvin and Arnold Loesch, sister, Norma Meschwitz, sons-in-law Richard Dickie Stickley and Fred Koehne, and seven brothers-in-law. Serving as pallbearers are LeRoy Tegeler, Gordon Lohmeyer, Melvin Loesch, Atwood Kenjura, David Wellmann, Jerry Meschewitz, Roger Meschewitz, and Larry Klehm. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the caring staff of Brenham Nursing and Rehab.
