Elton Adam Arceneaux, Jr. 76, husband of Linda Perry Arceneaux, died August 31, 2009 in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village. Born April 22, 1933 in rural Rayne, La., to Elton A. and Eunice Chiasson Arceneaux, he was baptized in Rayne, La. in 1933 and confirmed there in 1946. He served his country as an air traffic controller in the U. S. Air Force. On October 14, 1977, he married Linda Perry in New Orleans, La. Mr. Arceneaux was a banker. Survivors include his wife, Linda Arceneaux; children Randal Arceneaux and wife Rachel of Baton Rouge, La; Charisse Webb of Crowley, La.; Catherine Hetzel and husband Eric of Crowley, La.; Anna Swartzendruber and husband Todd of Crowley, La.; Greg T. Arceneaux of Rayne, La.; Jonathan Adam Arceneaux of Houston, Jami Brown and husband Worley of Round Rock; Victoria Muraywed and husband Malek of Houston; grandchildren: Adam and Daniel Arceneaux, Travis and Elise Webb, Caitlin, Laura, Alyson, Elizabeth, Sarah and Beau Hetzel, Zachary and Logan Miller, Esther and Aaron Swartzendruber, Brittany Latiolais, Connor, Morgan and Hayley Brown, Isabella and Alexander Muraywed; great-grandchildren: Dillon Arceneaux and Joseph Daniel Arceneaux; brothers and sisters-in-law John W. and Linda P. Arceneaux and Gerard and Frankie Arceneaux, all of Rayne, La.; sisters Mona Stutes, Barbara Rue, Elaine Leon, all of Rayne, La, and Debra and Don Grimmer of Breaux Bridge, La. Preceding him in death were his parents, Elton and Eunice Arceneaux, and granddaughter, Caitlin Hetzel. Elton loved all sports, especially baseball. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. A devoted bird watcher, he was familiar with various bird species and their habitats. He considered St. Peter''s Episcopal Church his church home. He was also a member of the American Legion. Funeral services for Elton Adam Arceneaux, Jr. will be held Friday, September 4 , 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter''s Episcopal Church in Brenham with Fr. David Ottsen officiating. A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. In addition, services will be held Monday, September 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Crowley, La. in St. Michael''s Catholic Church. A wake service will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Geesey-Fergusson Funeral Home in Crowley. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley, La. Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Chovanec, Eric Hetzel, Malek Muraywed, Randal Arceneaux, Perry Fretwell, and Jonathan Arceneaux.
