Elwood Hackemack

Elwood Albert Hackemack passed away peacefully on May 6, 2015. Elwood was born August 17, 1933 to Robert and Hilda Foehner Hackemack near Round Top, Texas. He was the last of nine children. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top, graduated from Round Top-Carmine High School, and served four years in the U. S. Navy. In March of 1964, Elwood married Bernice Weinert at Zion Lutheran Church in Brenham. They had one daughter, Rhonda Renee, and were married until Bernice''s death in 1981. In June of 1985, Elwood married Nona Cook near Tomball. They enjoyed almost 30 years of marriage. Elwood enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching westerns, good food, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice; parents, Robert and Hilda Hackemack; six brothers: Virgil, Reginald, Robert, Roy, Oliver and Quinton, and one sister, Pearlie Wagner. Survivors include his wife, Nona of Rosenberg; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Ben Huseman of Rosenberg; one brother and sister-in-law, Kurby and Doris Hackemack of Houston, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zionsville. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Grace Baptist Church, 6320 Rohan St. in Rosenberg.
