Emilie D. Oevermann, 47, of Houston, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011. She was born August 29, 1963 in Brenham to Edwin and Gladys Wagner Oevermann. Emilie was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Shelby. On May 29, 1999, she was married to Mark D. Riley in Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Houston. A 1985 graduate of Texas A&M University, Emilie was employed by Wells Fargo as a project manager. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston, as well as the Texas A&M Association of Former Students. Emilie''s special love was her family and her many friends. Spending time at the farm in Shelby and antiquing were favorite things to do. For 23 years, she was actively involved with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, representing Texas A&M in livestock judging contests. Survivors include her husband, Mark D. Riley of Houston; son, Mark A. Riley of Cypress; father, Edwin Oevermann of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Michael & Carolyn Oevermann of Cypress; niece and nephew, Jessica Oevermann and Brady Hallford, great niece, Kate Hallford and her special dogs Annie & MollyA&M. Also surviving are numerous special aunts, uncles and cousins. Emilie was preceded in death by her mother. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church in Shelby with Rev. Lawrence Bade officiating. Burial will follow in Mayer Cemetery. Pallbearers include Mark A. Riley, Brady Hallford, Cody Wagner, Wayne Imhoff, Rudy Tiemann, Jordan Fields and August Oevermann III. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, Dept. of Animal Science at Texas A&M, or to the charity of choice.
