Emilio Delgado

Emilio Delgado, husband of Sandra Wright Delgado, passed away April 23, 2017 in Brenham, TX at the age of 89.

Emilio was born October 15, 1927 in Peru to Faustino and Maria Herrera Delgado. After completing his medical education at San Marcos University and a surgical internship in Peru, he came to the United States to receive added formal training at the Metropolitan Center in Chicago, IL in thoracic research. He met and married Sandra Wright in Minneapolis, MN in May, 1961 and they had two daughters, Lisa and Lynn.

Dr. Delgado maintained a private practice as a general surgeon in Dawson, Georgia until his retirement in the late 90s. Upon his retirement, the family moved to Brenham, TX . Reading, writing, and music were his favorite pastimes. He was also a talented painter and an avid runner. Aside from his family, Emilio was most proud of obtaining his American citizenship in 1974.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter Lisa Bramer of Brenham, and Lynn Delgado and husband Fred Gehrisch of Georgia, grandchild, Ashley Bramer, and great-granddaughter, Isabella Bramer.
