Emma Wilhelmine Draeger, 95, of Brenham, died January 16, 2013 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013 in St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton, with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Emma Draeger was born May 7, 1917 in Rehburg to Gus Sr. and Martha Maass Draeger. She was baptized July 1, 1917 in St. John''s United Church of Christ by Rev. H. L. Schulz, and confirmed there March 20, 1932 by Rev. A. Walton. Survivors include her sister, Lydia Jaster of Burton; niece Betty Sidenstricker, nieces and nephews Ronald and Pat Jaster, and Shirley and Michael Thorpe, and a sister-in-law, Helen Draeger. Emma is also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Gus Draeger Jr. and Paul Draeger, as well as her brother-in-law, Raymond Jaster. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Thorpe, Ronald Jaster, Chris Jaster, Jesse Reed, Tommy Tristan, and Charles Chovanec. Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Jaster, Raymond Thorpe, and David Thorpe. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley or to St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton. Emma''s family would like to thank the staff of Gazebo Terrace as well as her caregivers from Hospice Brazos Valley in Brenham for all their attention and excellent care.
