Emma Neumann

Emma Bell Neumann, 92, of Brenham, the widow of Johnnie Neumann, died Jan. 13, 2017 in Brenham.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Emma Bell Neumann was born May 8, 1924 in the William Penn Community of Washington County to Charlie and Emma Engel Lampe. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. She was a member of Eben Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin.

Devoted to her family, Mrs. Neumann enjoyed preparing special dishes for them, and never used a recipe or measuring utensils. Emma worked tirelessly on the family farm, and grew vegetables in her garden.

She looked forward to and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including family gatherings at her home, birthday parties, baptisms, weddings, baby showers or time spent at the family farm. She also enjoyed riding on the Ranger, checking the cows and feeding the fish.

Survivors include sons Larry Neumann and Dennis Neumann; daughters Jearaldine Weaver (Jerry Stewart); Pauline Bradshaw, and Cynthia Beckendorf and fiancé, Vincent Hensen; sister-in-law, Lorene Neumann; brother-in-law, August Pahmiyer; grandchildren: Michele and Kerry Kooken, John and Karene Bradshaw, Craig and Becky Neumann, Angela and Kevin Moore, Alysha and John Metzger, Sheila Bradshaw, Christy and Marcus Walker, Crystal and Shane Moynihan, Cody and Katie Beckendorf, Nathan Neumann, and Trevor Beckendorf; great-grandchildren: Travis, Christopher, Skylar, Cade, Hunter, Logan, Averly, Kenlynn, Carson, Mason, Brynlee, Sawyer, Caroline, Aiden, Syndey and a special friend Ester Lehmann. A great-great grandson is expected in mid-February.

Mrs. Neumann was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie; parents; son-in-law Michael Bradshaw; brothers and sisters-in-law Alfred and Gladys Lampe, August and Lydia Lampe, Willie and Marion Lampe, Charlie Lampe; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Gerke Pahmiyer, Willie Gerke, and Rosa and Herbert Schoenemann.

Serving as pallbearers are John Bradshaw, Craig Neumann, Cody Beckendorf, Trevor Beckendorf, John Metzger, Shane Moynihan, Marcus Walker, and Kerry Kooken.

The family extends special thanks to her caregivers: Brenda Kapchinski, Joann Brieden, and Darlene Kelly.
